This group of academics has a number of long-standing collaborations between them and work with a broad spectrum of industries including aerospace, automotive, power generation, nuclear, oil and gas, chemical processes, food, railways, steel and instrumentation companies.
The consortium offers a wide range of techniques and expertise, including ultrasonic bulk and guided waves, thermographic, electromagnetic, advanced optical and non-contact methods. These are supported by highly developed capabilities in transduction and sensor technology, physical measurement, theoretical modelling, materials science, mechanical engineering, structural integrity, signal processing, data analysis and visualisation, and the design of automated systems. Expertise in NDE reliability is also available.
Other university research groups have been involved with previous RCNDE core and targeted research, including:
Progressively other UK universities will join the Centre to participate in research projects that need their particular expertise.
