RCNDE members can individually, collectively, or as part of a wider industrial consortium set up projects to address current industrial issues or known requirements. These projects may draw upon expertise within the RCNDE academic consortium, whether or not building on previous RCNDE research.
If an industrial NDE need is best met by downstream collaborative NDE, then the Centre can help facilitate joint industry projects. Such projects often can qualify for matched funding from Innovate UK or via the EU technology and innovation programme.
RCNDE can help translate research outcomes into useful solutions, either in the form of products or services, via its network of academic groups, end-user industries and NDE supply chain members. These activities can involve broader collaborations e.g. with instrumentation and service companies and Research and Technology Organisations (RTOs). Alternatively, the most appropriate approach may involve the formation of a spin-out company.
